Accountabilities / Responsibilities:
A. Job Knowledge

Oversee the receipt and distribution of central supplies, floor stock, office materials, and rental equipment.
Ensure optimal inventory levels are maintained, preventing stock shortages.

Manage the return and removal of surplus stock.

Sign all packing slips with name and date received, forwarding them to purchasing.

Administer all inventory control initiatives in compliance with departmental, JCAHO, Pristine Factor, safety, and security protocols.
Record all supplies in and out in the inventory system.

Conduct quarterly physical inventory assessments.

Organize central supply distribution and bulk storage areas by sections; label shelves to indicate item locations.Maintain carts and shelves according to standards: 6 inches from the floor, 18 inches from the ceiling.

Monitor, track, return, and dispose of outdated supplies to ensure no expired items are issued from central supply.

Verify that all receipts include purchase order numbers and are properly authorized.

Inspect all incoming shipments for damage.

Check supplies for expiration dates.

Exercise economic and prudent management of surgery center assets.

Exhibit appropriate awareness of age-specific developmental needs for the population served in relation to departmental duties.

B. Record Keeping

Ensure accurate record-keeping and reporting for the department.
Update the equipment logbook daily and ensure its accuracy.


Post all items removed from inventory to the computer system within 24 hours of removal and update the supervisor's computer daily.

Meet all established deadlines for ordering, receiving, delivering, and storing supplies.
Promptly and accurately check in and distribute all orders.

Utilize time efficiently.

Adhere to established facility safety protocols to maintain a secure working environment.
Demonstrate competent use of proper body mechanics in all activities.

Identify potentially unsafe situations and notify the supervisor.

Complete all employee/patient incident documentation thoroughly and promptly, as required by facility policy.

Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of established emergency procedures for the department and facility.

Practice infection control and standard precautions as instructed or trained.

C. Compliance

Exhibit safe operation of equipment and machinery, following procedures for reporting and rectifying unsafe conditions.

D. Service Satisfaction

Collaborate effectively with all facility department personnel to maintain optimal service levels in line with goals and objectives.
Adjust inventory levels on carts as necessary.

Notify the appropriate supervisor of any excess usage or unusual depletion.

Order supplies as needed in accordance with departmental procedures.

Identify potential issues promptly and inform the appropriate supervisor in a timely manner.

Understand and uphold patient privacy and medical record confidentiality.

Qualifications:
High School diploma or equivalent

Preferred 1-2 years of experience in medical supplies/equipment management.
