Job Summary

Fort Bend County is seeking a highly skilled Medical Supply Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Emergency Medical Services (EMS) department, you will be responsible for ensuring the adequate supply of medical equipment and materials to support our emergency response efforts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Transport emergency and support vehicles to and from repair facilities.
  • Perform intake of supplies, including verifying shipment contents, quantities, and expiration dates.
  • Collect, fill, and deliver station orders accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Utilize inventory control software to maintain accountability for all supplies and equipment.
  • Ensure the fleet of reserve ambulances is properly stocked, fueled, and ready for deployment.
  • Perform audits to ensure compliance with State of Texas DSHS EMS Medical Equipment List.
  • Properly witness, log, and label narcotics, following DEA and departmental tracking standards.
  • Maintain accountability of all County-assigned capital equipment.
  • Participate in emergency management activities during local states of disaster, as directed by county managers.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma/GED.
  • EMT or equivalent knowledge.
  • 2 years of job-related experience, with experience using and repairing medical equipment and supplies preferred.
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Professional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with the public and other employees.
  • Ability to prioritize and complete assigned tasks with tight deadlines.
  • Knowledge of ordering and maintaining an inventory of supplies and equipment, as well as warehouse operations and procedures.
  • Ability to operate a forklift and maintain certification.
  • Valid Texas Driver's License.
Benefits

Fort Bend County offers a competitive salary range of $17.60-$22.00 per hour, based on qualifications. All full-time and part-time employees are members of the Texas County District Retirement System (TCDRS), and full-time employees enjoy a wide range of great benefits.
