Internal Audit Department (IAD):

The IAD is devoted to delivering insightful evaluations, utilizing specialized expertise, and providing a refreshing experience to all stakeholders. Our team comprises technically proficient professionals who are collaborative, diligent, and highly motivated to consistently produce high-quality outcomes in a dynamic and fast-paced setting. The IAD is regarded as a crucial component of Discover's risk management framework and is respected by management as a reliable partner.

Consumer Compliance Internal Audit Team:

This team evaluates business operations and practices for potential non-compliance with relevant consumer laws and regulations. The team conducts audit assessments in a dynamic environment across a broad spectrum of regulatory topics, analyzing risk management frameworks, controls, and governance to offer insights to business partners regarding compliance risks.

Key Focus Areas Include:

  • Fair Lending Laws and Regulations
  • Consumer Compliance Lending Regulations
  • Consumer Compliance Depository Regulations
  • Unfair and Deceptive Practices
  • Privacy and Consumer Information Regulations
  • Community Reinvestment Act
  • Compliance Management Systems

Core Responsibilities:

  • Conduct assigned audits and audit tasks utilizing departmental tools and adhering to guidelines, ensuring timely and high-quality results. Discuss findings and solutions with clients and audit leads.
  • Develop comprehensive risk assessments and evaluate controls against industry best practices.
  • Enhance skill sets through required training and pursue advanced degrees and/or certifications as per departmental guidelines.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Social Sciences, Engineering, Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Management, Information Technology, Analytics, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in Applied Sciences, Engineering, Operations, Accounting, Finance, Business, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in Regulatory Compliance auditing within an Accounting/Consulting firm, Financial Institution, or Regulatory Agency.
  • Certifications such as Six Sigma, STEM, or Business, Risk, Compliance, or Audit-related certifications.
  • Professional certificates like CRCM, CPA, CIA, CFE, CAMS, or those from the American Bankers Association.

Compensation and Benefits:

The base salary for this role typically ranges between $65,000.00 to $109,000.00, with additional incentives as part of a competitive total compensation package. Various factors, including geographical location, relevant experience, education, and skill level, may influence the pay for this position.
