About the Role

Nationwide Children's Hospital is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Research Assistant to join our team. As a Research Assistant, you will play a critical role in supporting the conduct of research experiments and clinical studies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform research experiments independently or semi-independently in accordance with protocols approved by the principal investigator.
  • Prepare and maintain Institutional Review Board protocols.
  • Perform data requests for clinical research projects and ensure accuracy of data collection and methodology.
  • Collect and control experimental data and patient information, and maintain accurate daily logs of experiments.
  • Interpret the results of data analyses with input from the principal investigators.
  • Assist the principal investigators in the preparation of scientific publications and grant proposals.
  • Make recommendations about refinement and/or replacement of clinical research projects and implement such refinements or new procedures with input from the principal investigator.
  • Order supplies needed to conduct research, maintain inventory of equipment and supplies, and assure that research equipment is in good working order.
  • Collaborate in the preparation of research budgets and monitor expenditure of funds to assure that studies are conducted within budgetary constraints.
  • Instruct other research team members and students in standard methods, practices, procedures, and operations.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
  • Coursework in relevant research methods, preferred.
  • Six months to two years of research experience.
