Job Summary

As a Real Time Power Support Engineer at the Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT), you will play a critical role in ensuring the reliable operation of the electric power grid. Your expertise in electrical engineering and technical support will be essential in analyzing and resolving complex issues that impact grid reliability.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide engineering analysis and technical support to ensure the continued reliable operation of the electric power grid.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement solutions to improve grid reliability and efficiency.
  • Develop and maintain system models, tools, and procedures to monitor and control the grid.
  • Analyze simulated or actual operating results to identify areas for improvement and develop recommendations.
  • Communicate complex technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience as a power system engineer or similar role.
  • Experience with EMS (State Estimator, Realtime Contingency Analysis, Voltage and Transient Stability Analysis) and/or programming languages such as VBA, Python, or SQL.
Preferred Qualifications
  • PE Professional Engineer certification.
  • NERC Reliability Coordinator Certification.
Work Location

Taylor, TX. Employees will be required to be on-site in Taylor, TX at minimum 2 days per week, or more, as needed based on the business needs as determined by management.
