Mid-Level Distribution Engineer

POWER Engineers, Inc. is seeking a skilled professional to join our Power Delivery Distribution Department in Austin, Texas.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct quality reviews of project deliverables to ensure adherence to industry standards and best practices.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and operate overhead and underground distribution lines.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of utility standards, joint facilities design, and compatible units.
  • Participate in the development of construction packages and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Provide technical expertise and support to project teams.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in distribution design software.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in distribution engineering, with a focus on overhead and underground distribution lines.
  • Strong understanding of utility standards, joint facilities design, and compatible units.
  • Proficiency in distribution design software, including National Electric Safety Code and utility best practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional Engineering license (P.E.) or equivalent in the state of Texas.
  • Experience with utility Geographical Information Systems (GIS) and distribution design software.
  • Leadership experience and ability to direct teams of engineers, designers, and drafters.
