Mechanical Power Transmission Research Intern

POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Applied Research Laboratory at Penn State University is on the lookout for undergraduate seniors who are passionate about mechanical power transmission research and evaluation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Setup and calibration of gear testing apparatus
- Conducting gear measurement and analysis
- Performing fatigue assessments
- Analyzing and interpreting data results
Selected candidates will gain practical experience that enhances their qualifications in the competitive job landscape.
Preferred Academic Background:
- Biological Engineering
- Mechanical Engineering
- Engineering Science and Mechanics
This opportunity is supported by a grant from John Deere, with potential employment prospects at John Deere post-graduation.
The chosen candidate will be expected to work up to 20 hours per week during the academic semesters and 40 hours per week during the summer months.
Selected candidates may undergo a government security clearance process. U.S. citizenship is required for application. Employment with the Applied Research Laboratory is contingent upon passing a pre-employment drug screening.
