Jupiter Medical Center is a leading healthcare provider in Palm Beach County and the Treasure Coast, renowned for its commitment to safety, quality, and patient satisfaction. As a key member of our team, the Lead Surgical Support Technician plays a vital role in ensuring seamless patient care in the operating room.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the surgical support team, OR staff, anesthesiologists, surgeons, and other support staff to facilitate efficient patient care.
  • Clean and troubleshoot surgical equipment to maintain optimal functionality.
  • Conduct thorough operating room turnovers and terminal cleaning to maintain a sterile environment.
  • Assist with surgical positioning of patients under the direction of the OR team.
  • Prepare and assist with patient transport, ensuring safe and timely movement.
  • Acquire necessary surgical equipment prior to procedures, adhering to surgeon and case preferences.
  • Assist with equipment setup in the operating room suite.
  • Support anesthesia providers during patient procedures.
  • Communicate effectively with all levels of clinical staff, including surgeons, anesthesiologists, nursing staff, and ancillary staff.
  • Safely prepare and plan for post-surgical patient transport.
  • Effectively communicate and respond to team members and patients.
  • Set up and transport various surgical gases, including nitrogen, oxygen, and CO2.
  • Develop a basic understanding of surgical procedures and processes, as well as the equipment used for each procedure, in accordance with surgeon preferences.

Requirements:

  • American Heart Association BLS certification for Healthcare Providers.
  • Operating room experience is required.
