Job Summary

The IT Support Specialist will provide essential assistance to users of clinical information systems, ensuring high-quality customer service and efficient problem resolution. This role involves managing IT support inquiries, prioritizing issues, creating support tickets, and addressing Tier I challenges. More complex Tier II issues will be escalated to the appropriate IT personnel, with a focus on identifying and addressing recurring problems. A strong understanding of clinical operations and adherence to regulatory standards for electronic health records is crucial.

Key Qualifications
  • Outstanding customer service and communication abilities.
  • Strong proficiency in computer systems, software, and hardware.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and web applications.
  • Desirable background in computer programming or hardware repair.
  • Self-motivated with excellent organizational and analytical capabilities.
  • Familiarity with healthcare terminology; experience in hospice or home health settings is advantageous.
  • Possession of a nursing license (RN or LPN) is a plus.
Core Responsibilities
  1. Ticket Management: Oversee IT support tickets from initiation to resolution, providing Tier I assistance and escalating Tier II issues as necessary.
  2. Resource Coordination: Efficiently manage resources and time to optimize budgetary constraints.
  3. Effective Communication: Clearly convey complex IT concepts and challenges across all levels of the organization.
  4. Knowledge Development: Keep abreast of software applications, healthcare advancements, and organizational protocols.
  5. Training and Assistance: Offer training and support to medical personnel on IT systems and applications.
  6. Quality Enhancement: Develop and sustain quality improvement initiatives for clinical information systems.
  7. Project Management: Lead and assess IT projects within the clinical informatics sector.
  8. Confidentiality Assurance: Uphold the confidentiality of patient, family, physician, and employee information.
  9. Customer Service Excellence: Provide courteous and efficient service to both internal and external customers.
  10. Collaborative Teamwork: Work closely with clinical managers to identify and fulfill IT requirements.
