General Overview

The Project Manager role is integral to the Project Management Organization. This individual will oversee assigned projects from the feasibility stage through to production launch. The Project Manager will guide cross-functional teams in planning and executing New Product Introduction (NPI) initiatives to fulfill customer expectations and adhere to Rochester's quality benchmarks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate closely with Sales, Supplier Development, Quoting, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Quality teams to accurately evaluate new product opportunities.
  • Engage with customers and stakeholders to establish a clear and precise scope for proposed projects, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulatory standards.
  • Lead the cross-functional team in developing a comprehensive Project Plan that encompasses schedule, budget, resources, risks, and other necessary elements.
  • Work alongside cross-functional leadership to ascertain staffing needs and commitments essential for successful project execution.
  • Oversee project progress to ensure alignment with scope, schedule, and budget, implementing change management protocols as necessary.
  • Proactively manage project risks throughout the planning and execution phases.
  • In collaboration with the Project Management team, track and report relevant metrics to monitor progress and identify areas for enhancement.
  • Formulate and implement recovery strategies in response to project delays.
  • Coordinate daily project activities, including action logs, priorities, meetings, and communications, ensuring cohesive alignment across all cross-functional teams while optimizing project performance.
  • Act as the primary contact for project communications, compiling regular updates for all stakeholders (team, management, etc.) and delivering them through both formal and informal presentations.
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
  • Identify, create, document, and provide training for all necessary internal process documentation.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders regarding staffing needs and resource commitments for assigned projects.
  • Facilitate and lead meetings as required.

Qualifications, Skills & Abilities

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related technical field (STEM); or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience as a technical project/program manager with a focus on new product development.
  • Familiarity with or a solid understanding of the semiconductor industry.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills.
  • Proven leadership abilities in cross-functional team settings.
  • Capability to identify areas for improvement based on past experiences.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated business acumen.
  • Experience in creating Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) and utilizing MS Project (or similar tools).
