General Overview

The Senior Project Manager will be an integral part of the Project Management Organization. This role involves overseeing designated projects from the feasibility stage through to production launch. The Project Manager will guide cross-functional teams in planning and executing New Product Introduction (NPI) initiatives to fulfill customer expectations and uphold Rochester's quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate closely with Sales, Supplier Development, Quoting, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Quality teams to evaluate new product opportunities effectively.
  • Engage with clients and stakeholders to establish a clear and precise scope for proposed projects, ensuring compliance with customer needs and all relevant regulatory standards.
  • Lead the cross-functional team in developing a comprehensive Project Plan that encompasses timelines, budgets, resources, risks, and other necessary elements.
  • Work alongside cross-functional leadership to identify staffing needs and commitments essential for successful project execution.
  • Oversee project progress to ensure adherence to scope, schedule, and budget, implementing change management protocols as necessary.
  • Proactively manage project risks throughout the planning and execution phases.
  • In partnership with the Project Management team, track and report relevant metrics to monitor progress and highlight areas for improvement.
  • Formulate and implement recovery strategies in the event of project delays.
  • Coordinate daily project activities, maintain action logs, set priorities, organize meetings, and ensure effective communication across all teams while optimizing project performance.
  • Act as the primary contact for project communications, compiling regular updates for all stakeholders and presenting them through both formal and informal channels.
  • Fulfill additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
  • Identify, create, document, and provide training for all necessary internal process documentation.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders on staffing requirements and resource allocations for assigned projects.
  • Facilitate and lead meetings as needed.

Qualifications, Skills & Competencies

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related technical field (STEM), or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in technical project/program management and new product development.
  • Familiarity with or a solid understanding of the semiconductor industry.
  • Strong planning and organizational abilities.
  • Proven leadership skills in cross-functional team settings.
  • Capability to identify areas for improvement based on past experiences.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated business acumen.
  • Experience in creating Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) and proficiency in MS Project (or similar tools).
