Position Summary:

NextCare Urgent Care is seeking a skilled Billing Supervisor to oversee our billing operations. This role is pivotal in managing the billing process for patient visits, ensuring compliance with all carriers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage daily billing operations for claims to insurance carriers, patients, and employers, ensuring adherence to contract requirements and payer guidelines.
  • Develop and update policies and procedures for the billing department in response to regulatory changes.
  • Supervise Billing Coordinators, Claim Auditors, and other staff within the billing department.
  • Ensure timely billing for acquisitions and auditing of existing clinic charges.
  • Collaborate with Collections, Credentialing, and Cash Posting departments to address issues affecting claim payments and denials.
  • Stay informed on billing and documentation changes across all operational states.
  • Evaluate claim edits to ensure thorough preparation before submission to the clearinghouse.
  • Assist in troubleshooting billing system issues and collaborate with management to enhance the billing process.
  • Integrate new clinics and states into the billing framework seamlessly.
  • Perform staffing, training, and HR-related functions as necessary.
  • Uphold the NextCare Mission Statement, Vision, Values, and Performance Standards in all interactions.

Qualifications:

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required.

Experience:

  • Minimum of two years in accounts receivable management, billing, collections, and payment posting.
  • At least two years of supervisory experience with a solid understanding of insurance processes.
  • Experience in revenue cycle management within a healthcare setting.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and basic internet browser skills.

Preferred Skills:

  • Familiarity with Nextgen PM/EHR systems.
  • Experience with Waystar Clearinghouse and Payer Provider Portals.
  • Basic knowledge of medical billing terminology.
