Assistant Professor

We are seeking a highly qualified Research Faculty to join our team at the University of California San Diego's Department of Pathology. The successful candidate will be part of the new Center for Transplantation Science, a cutting-edge research program focused on clinical, translational, and basic science research related to transplantation.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in transplantation research and a proven track record of securing extramural funding. They will be responsible for developing and maintaining an independent research program, collaborating with other departments in the School of Medicine, and providing high-quality training and teaching.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and maintain an independent extramurally-funded research program in transplantation science
- Collaborate with other departments in the School of Medicine
- Provide high-quality training and teaching
- Have the opportunity to have clinical effort in Laboratory and Genomic Medicine or Anatomic Pathology, particularly related to transplantation
Candidates must have an MD or equivalent, MD/PhD, or PhD in transplantation research relevant fields. Candidates with an MD or equivalent, who plan to have a clinical effort must have or be eligible for a California medical license or equivalent certification/permit as determined by the Medical Board of California. Candidates who plan to have a clinical effort must be board-eligible/board-certified in Anatomic, and/or Clinical Pathology, or a related field.
Preferred QualificationsCandidates with a current research program in a discipline relevant to organ transplantation with current extramural funding are preferred.
