The Rady School of Management and the Herbert Wertheim School of Public Health and Human Longevity Science at UC San Diego are dedicated to promoting academic excellence and diversity within the faculty, staff, and student body. We invite applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position as part of the Chancellor's Joint FTE Hires Initiative.
This joint appointment will emphasize Healthcare Management Science, an emerging interdisciplinary field aimed at enhancing the design and management of healthcare service delivery in both developed and developing economies.
With significant opportunities for interdisciplinary research in healthcare operations and delivery, relevant topics for this position include: stochastic processes, optimization, strategic patient modeling, management information systems, and the development, implementation, and evaluation of healthcare policies and practices.
We are looking for candidates whose research, teaching, and service will contribute to UC San Diego's mission of enriching human life and society. Teaching responsibilities will be shared between the School of Management and the School of Public Health.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications: Candidates must demonstrate experience in research related to healthcare management science, healthcare operations, health policy, or health services evaluations, with 1-2 working papers or publications in reputable scholarly journals, along with experience teaching at the undergraduate or graduate level.
Additional Qualifications: Candidates must possess a PhD, DrPH, or other doctoral degree in a relevant field such as business, public health, or health policy by the start of the appointment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Preference will be given to candidates who can demonstrate a commitment to equity and inclusion in higher education and who plan to contribute to initiatives that enhance access and success for underrepresented students and faculty.
