Telephonic Triage Nurse Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Telephonic Triage Nurse to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare staff, you will be responsible for providing exceptional care to patients through telephonic means.
Job DescriptionThe successful candidate will have experience in triaging incoming and outgoing customer service programs, assessing callers' needs and symptoms, and providing appropriate clinical and administrative advice. They will work closely with our team to ensure that each caller receives the best possible care.
Responsibilities include:
- Providing telephonic nursing services, including health information, health education, healthcare assessment, and triage
- Conducting thorough and sound nursing assessments of callers' presenting symptoms
- Developing, implementing, and evaluating a plan of care for each caller's presenting symptoms
- Applying nursing process to identify and prioritize healthcare triage interventions that are appropriate, accurate, effective, and reduce the risk of adverse outcomes
- Documenting call inquiries according to policies and procedures
- Answering calls in a timely manner per protocol
- Maintaining confidentiality of callers and their personal issues following HIPAA guidelines
- Interacting with callers and other staff in a polite and courteous manner
To be considered for this role, you must have:
- A current Registered Nurse license for the state of practice
- One year of prior professional nursing experience preferred
- Compliance with all relevant professional standards of practice
- Participation and completion of Amergis' Competency program when applicable
- Current CPR if applicable (not applicable if fully remote)
- TB Questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
- Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)
- Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements
- Successful completion of new hire training as applicable to job site
- Understanding of patient confidentiality and HIPAA requirements
- Ability to effectively elicit/provide information to and from appropriate individuals via strong communication skills; proficiency in the English language is required
- Computer proficiency required
