AUTOMOTIVE SALES SPECIALIST

POSITION OVERVIEW: Sales Representatives play a crucial role in the automotive industry by showcasing and selling vehicles. This involves understanding and demonstrating the features, capabilities, and specifications of various models, as well as developing and qualifying potential buyers to successfully close sales.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Ability to read and interpret various business documents, professional journals, and technical guidelines.
  • Proficient in writing reports, business correspondence, and procedural manuals.
  • Effective communication skills to present information and respond to inquiries from management, clients, and the public.
  • Problem-solving abilities to address practical challenges and navigate diverse situations.
  • Capability to interpret various instructions in written, oral, or scheduled formats.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • A valid driver's license and a satisfactory Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) are mandatory.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Greet customers on the sales floor and ascertain their vehicle preferences.
  • Explain vehicle features and demonstrate operations both in the showroom and on the road.
  • Recommend additional equipment for purchase.
  • Research model availability and optional features.
  • Consult with the Sales Manager as needed, ensuring no customer leaves without proper consultation.
  • Collaborate with the Sales Manager to calculate and communicate sales pricing, including taxes, trade-in allowances, and financing options.
  • Prepare all necessary documentation and applications (e.g., sales slips, credit applications).
  • Deliver vehicles to customers, ensuring they understand the vehicle's features, warranty, and associated paperwork, fostering customer loyalty.
  • Maintain a system for prospect development.
  • Stay informed about new products, features, and accessories.
  • Participate in scheduled sales meetings and training sessions.
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures.
  • Meet or exceed sales forecasts and targets.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Frequent exposure to outdoor weather conditions.
  • Occasional need to use hands for handling, reaching, climbing, or balancing.
  • Regularly required to stand, talk, and hear; frequent walking and sitting.
  • Potential exposure to exhaust fumes or airborne particles.
  • Occasionally lift and/or move items weighing up to 10 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and peripheral vision.
