Job Overview

This role is designed for an individual who will act as the leading authority on all grade control technologies utilized in machinery offered by Roland Machinery Co. The selected candidate will be the primary contact for clients seeking expertise in machine grade control, software solutions, and surveying technologies. Responsibilities will also encompass providing product training and support during demonstrations, as well as post-sale assistance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Acquire and maintain an in-depth understanding of Komatsu Intelligent Machine Control (IMC) Products, Wirtgen Group Technology solutions, and Topcon Grading Systems.
  • Stay updated on advancements in GPS technology for the earthmoving sector, including site preparation and management software, to effectively communicate our advantages over competitors.
  • Assess customer equipment and maintenance requirements to identify new business opportunities in collaboration with clients, vendors, and sales teams throughout project lifecycles.
  • Develop and expand the market for technology sales in the designated area, providing support for all machine Grade Control products and software solutions, qualifying leads, and facilitating sales through field and office interactions.
  • Promote and sell technology products and solutions, showcasing product features and delivering comprehensive information on GPS, laser reference, and robotic systems.
  • Achieve sales and rental growth targets while contributing to overall company profitability.
  • Represent the manufacturer by testing new technologies or programs that align with growth objectives and providing constructive feedback.
  • Conduct training sessions for customers in both classroom and field settings, creating training materials and tracking progress.
  • Meet established training revenue goals and objectives.
  • Enhance the sales of Topcon survey solutions, including rover and base station equipment, to clients in the construction sector.
  • Collaborate with industry associations to increase awareness of solutions and generate leads.
  • Effectively coordinate with sales and product support teams to ensure customer satisfaction and support.
  • Maintain physical inventory of grade control systems.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or an Associate Degree in surveying technology, or a minimum of 5 years of experience in construction surveying or GPS technology.
  • Proven knowledge of construction equipment and GPS machine control technology, with the ability to train others and troubleshoot related software and hardware.
  • Mechanical aptitude and the capability to discuss new technologies with clients at all levels.
  • Strong computer skills, particularly in Excel and survey data 3D design models.
  • A positive attitude towards change and evolution, along with excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • A collaborative team player with the ability to build strong, long-lasting relationships.
  • Ability to work independently with a strong sense of urgency.
  • Willingness to travel outside the assigned region as needed.
  • Physical requirements include the ability to perform ordinary tasks such as standing, walking, and lifting light to medium weights, along with good hand-eye coordination.
