Job Overview

Pricing Analyst

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and direct the pricing evaluation for one-way networks, intermodal services, and dedicated proposals.
  • Assist in the creation and upkeep of a detailed RFP and spot bid pricing framework that enables team members to swiftly evaluate potential business opportunities for likely success rates, projected profits, and cost estimates.
  • Establish a historical perspective on critical pricing elements and formulate predictions regarding future trends.
  • Link success and failure metrics from previous initiatives to ongoing projects, including assessing the profitability of contracts post-implementation to ensure expected margins are achieved.
  • Build a robust understanding of the competitive landscape concerning contract and spot business acquisition, translating insights to commercial sales teams.
  • Comprehend enterprise strategies aimed at increasing market share and business, supporting these initiatives with data-driven insights.
  • Assess the risk profile of business opportunities from both profit/loss and credit perspectives.
  • Provide innovative and unconventional solutions to business challenges, collaborating with sales and operations to create customer-centric solutions, such as understanding backhaul needs in dedicated fleet proposals.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance performance and outcomes across the organization.
  • Analyze purchasing patterns and the strengths and weaknesses of fleet development, applying this knowledge strategically to bidding processes.
  • Collaborate with operations, finance, sales, and relevant leadership across departments.

Essential Skills:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, with experience handling large datasets.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Strong communication abilities.
  • Effective time management skills.

Qualifications:

  • Preferred Bachelor's degree.
  • Experience in the transportation sector.
  • Familiarity with transport solutions design within automated pricing systems.
  • Understanding of PTI sectors, clientele, and product offerings.
  • Experience utilizing technology for data manipulation and modeling.
  • Knowledge of network design and operational processes.
  • Ability to devise innovative solutions to challenges and articulate unique concepts.
  • Capability to seek ways to enhance efficiency and service quality.
