Position Summary:
This role is centered around providing direction and fostering continuous enhancement within the CAD department. The successful candidate will utilize CAD/CAM software to generate programs and essential details for CNC machinery, as well as create setup and tooling sheets for operators. A key aspect of this position involves collaborating with the fabrication team to devise advanced programming techniques that improve speed, precision, and quality in production.
Key Responsibilities:
- Optimize CAD file setups to enhance router output.
- Convert CAD data into appropriate formats for offline programming software, ensuring alignment with shop requirements.
- Develop CNC programs tailored for specific CNC controls.
- Support operators by addressing inquiries related to CNC programs and part files.
- Focus on continuous improvement initiatives to boost productivity, quality, and profitability.
- Quickly resolve issues to meet customer quality standards.
- Adhere to safety protocols and be capable of lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Manage time effectively to ensure timely project delivery.
- Participate in cross-training within the shop as needed.
- Gain proficiency with various equipment, including:
- Trumpf 3040 6KW Fiber Laser
- Multicam Water Jet
- Beisse Rover A 2264G FT Router
- Multicam Router (3000 and 5000)
- High School diploma; technical diploma preferred.
- 2-5 years of CAD experience with large CNC cutting machinery, demonstrating strong technical knowledge of machining processes.
- Experience with routing and familiarity with flexi-design software.
- Ability to interpret blueprints.
- Preferred knowledge of Boost and AutoCAD.
- Understanding of Fusion 360 software is advantageous.
