Program Coordinator for Northern Colorado Initiatives

National Forest Foundation (NFF) is excited to announce a full-time opportunity for a Program Coordinator to oversee initiatives that foster collaboration between NFF and the Arapaho and Roosevelt National Forests and Pawnee National Grassland (ARP). This role involves engaging with communities throughout Northern Colorado and leading projects in partnership with ARP.

Key Responsibilities:The Northern Colorado Program Coordinator will:
- Facilitate collaboration with partner organizations to promote resource planning and community involvement in areas such as post-fire recovery, reforestation, and recreation.
- Manage intricate financial processes and funding strategies linked to ARP-NFF partnership initiatives.
- Work closely with ARP personnel to enhance the Forest's recreation programs, supporting local collaborative efforts and utilizing NFF's funding tools for priority projects.
- Utilize NFF's contracting and grant management resources to assist in the upkeep of ARP infrastructure.
- Support collaborative planning initiatives across the ARP based on identified community needs, which may involve facilitation and financial oversight.
- Lead the process of advertising, negotiating, and awarding contracts for services related to project implementation.
- Coordinate effectively with contractors, consultants, nonprofit organizations, agency partners, and private landowners to ensure successful project execution.
- Collaborate with the U.S. Forest Service to develop and manage large-scale agreements associated with various projects.
- Oversee budgets and reporting for grants from government sources and philanthropic contributions.
- Expand the network of supporters and partners by pursuing funding opportunities and developing new initiatives.
- Foster strong relationships among federal and state agencies, local governments, nonprofit organizations, and NFF to implement effective conservation partnerships.
- Enhance NFF's capacity to support forest and watershed health projects by reinforcing existing collaborations and establishing new partnerships.
- Stay informed about current trends, emerging issues, and innovations in conservation programming to improve NFF's strategic effectiveness.
This position is based in Northern Colorado and may allow for remote work. Regular travel throughout the Northern Colorado Region / ARP National Forest is required. Reliable internet access and a dedicated workspace are essential.
Compensation:NFF offers competitive compensation and benefits, with a salary range reflective of the responsibilities and experience required for this position.
Qualifications:Education: A minimum of an undergraduate degree in conservation, business, landscape architecture, recreation management, environmental science, or a related field.
Experience: At least three years of relevant experience in conservation programs, project planning, and coordination.
Skills: Strong writing and public speaking abilities, along with a commitment to NFF's mission and familiarity with U.S. Forest Service operations.
Abilities: Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
