Compensation: $44,000-$55,000

Role Summary:

At Ascent Classical Academy of Northern Colorado, educators are empowered to design their own lesson plans within the framework of a rich curriculum, collaborating with fellow teachers and partnering with Hillsdale College's Barney Charter School Initiative. Our educators are committed to enhancing both the intellectual and moral development of their students. We are currently seeking an upper grammar educator for grades 4-6. The role involves taking responsibility for the educational development of students, demonstrating high ethical standards, and possessing a strong command of the subjects taught. Teachers will work together to cultivate a safe, respectful, and engaging learning environment. This position will report to the Dean of Faculty.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement lesson plans for a class of approximately 25-32 students in accordance with ACA's classical curriculum.
  • Foster a classroom environment characterized by joy, order, and curiosity, addressing student behavior effectively.
  • Engage professionally and positively with students, parents, colleagues, and staff.
  • Exemplify sound judgment, virtue, and responsibility.
  • Develop and execute student interventions, collaborating with specialists on individual education plans (IEPs).
  • Participate in ongoing professional development to enhance subject knowledge and pedagogical skills.
  • Utilize appropriate technology for teaching, assessment, and record-keeping.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field from an accredited institution.
  • Experience in classical education is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills are essential.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit for extended periods, work on a computer, or stand while teaching.
  • Capability to lift up to 15 pounds occasionally.
  • Ability to navigate the classroom and adjust posture to effectively engage with each student.
