Job Overview
SUMMARY OF KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Under the guidance of the Director, this role involves planning, coordinating, administering, directing, and facilitating the drafting and execution of agreements for funded research initiatives or collaborative studies with public or private entities. The position ensures the smooth progression of the negotiation process and guarantees the timely execution of agreements. It also focuses on the optimal use of resources and adherence to federal regulations as well as local (state, city, institutional) policies, procedures, and other standards.
KEY QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Defines project scope, objectives, and milestones, outlining major deliverables while ensuring drafted agreements accurately reflect and encompass the proposed activities.
2. Considers available resources and constraints, policy issues, contractual commitments, and program audits in the development of project plans and implementation strategies in collaboration with partnering agency officials, consistent with the System's mission, values, and business goals.
3. Interprets and implements policy and procedural guidelines, consistent with NYC Health + Hospitals policies and procedures, to facilitate the successful, timely, and efficient completion of projects.
4. During the negotiation phase, anticipates and identifies issues, constraints, and other potential hindrances, implementing control measures, solutions, and alternative courses of action to resolve emergent problems or critical situations.
5. Develops and maintains templates and tools to monitor research agreement progression.
6. Oversees project progress and the status of deliverables against project plans and timelines, evaluating quality and timeliness of completion.
7. Prepares budget estimates and controls to ensure that project expenses are effectively managed within funding limitations.
8. Leads, develops, and maintains effective working relationships with fellow administrators, Legal, and collaborators.
9. Assists and supports research teams in completing their periodic progress and activity reports to funding agency officials and/or H+H management through designated channels, and within appropriate timeframes.
10. Supports the Director in conducting audits and other required monitoring activities.
11. Acts as a representative for research projects and as a liaison with relevant institutional and partner contacts.
12. Performs additional Research Administration duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications
Educational and/or experience requirements will vary, necessitating diverse kinds and levels depending on the content, complexity, and variety of the project. Compensation levels will align with the requirements established for the designated project.
In no case will the acceptable minimum be below:
1. A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in a relevant discipline consistent with project content; and,
2. Four years of relevant healthcare experience related to the objectives of the project; or,
3. A satisfactory equivalent combination of experience, training, and education.
