Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified Nursing Faculty member to join our team at the University of New Mexico - Hospitals. As a key member of our Clinical Education department, you will be responsible for ensuring adherence to hospital and departmental policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure patient safety by following hospital and departmental policies and procedures.
  • Assign patients to nursing staff, considering age groups from neonate to geriatric.
  • Identify and report potential or actual patient safety concerns, medical errors, and near misses in a timely manner.
  • Develop and implement educational curricula using adult learning principles to meet goals and objectives.
  • Maintain and enhance the quality of instructional programs and effectiveness of the nursing professional development practitioner.
  • Collaborate with professionals, leaders, and stakeholders to facilitate practice and promote quality outcomes.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
  • Current knowledge and competency in the field of nursing and professional development practice.
  • Bilingual English and Spanish, or proficiency in other languages such as Keres, Tewa, Tiwa, Towa, Zuni, or Navajo.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Continuing Nursing Education (CNE) units and records maintenance.
Work Environment

This position requires working with chemicals and biohazardous materials, necessitating the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
