Position Overview

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE:

  • At least one (1) year of experience in a banking role, particularly as a Teller.
  • Fluent in English with strong reading, writing, and grammar capabilities.
  • Strong analytical and mathematical abilities.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
  • Proficient in computer skills, including familiarity with relevant software applications.
  • Capable of operating various office equipment such as currency counters, combination locks, check encoders, fax machines, and passbook validators.
  • Able to lift up to 50 pounds of coins.
  • Good visual and auditory perception.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent, with a minimum of one year of experience in cash handling.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Welcome and assist customers in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Identify, nurture, and manage consumer and business account relationships, focusing on fulfilling customer needs for financial products.
  • Recognize customers with potential for increased profitability and create strategies to enhance these relationships, referring business to all relevant partners.
  • Address customer inquiries and concerns, directing them to appropriate internal resources for resolution. Exhibit integrity, adaptability, commitment to work, and maintain a positive demeanor in all situations.
  • Engage in continuous training and development.
  • Support daily branch operations, including reporting, ATMs, coin machines, and main cash vault activities. Assist in preparing cash for shipments.
  • Develop a thorough understanding of all banking systems necessary for performing teller transactions and platform duties, including the use of a PC and calculator.
  • Handle a variety of routine and complex transactions, including account openings and closings, processing deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, and transfers.
  • Exhibit flexibility and willingness to travel to other branch locations within the region and adapt to schedule changes, including evenings and weekends.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of policies and procedures and apply this knowledge effectively in real situations.
  • Stay informed about current fraud alerts and identify fraudulent activities to mitigate potential losses.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of new products and services.
  • Participate in weekly branch meetings.
  • Complete daily ATM reconciliation and end-of-day closing procedures.
  • Coordinate specific tasks with other branch personnel and other Bank departments to ensure smooth and efficient information flow.
  • Comply with current laws and organizational policies and procedures, fostering a workplace free from harassment and discrimination.
  • Collaborate with and support adherence to all internal policies, procedures, and practices to ensure risk management and compliance with regulatory requirements.
