Join Our Team as an Obstetric Registered Nurse

Position Overview:
This full-time role involves a Day/Night rotation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver patient care through the nursing process, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Support healthcare providers in delivering care to women and newborns.
  • Delegate care responsibilities to ancillary staff effectively.
  • Train and supervise new staff and OB technicians.

Essential Competencies:

  • Exhibit proficiency in fetal monitoring and comprehensive maternal-newborn and gynecologic care.
  • Demonstrate the ability to work autonomously while adapting to changing priorities.
  • Foster collaborative relationships with healthcare providers, nursing colleagues, and ancillary departments.
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information related to patients and staff.
  • Possess the knowledge and skills necessary to provide age-appropriate care, embodying the CARES values consistently.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Current NYS license as a Registered Professional Nurse.
  • Completion of Neonatal Resuscitation training within one year of hire.

Preferred:

  • Certification in an obstetrical or neonatal specialty.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or commitment to obtain within five years of hire.
  • Minimum of one year of experience in medical-surgical or obstetric nursing.

Work Environment:
The role requires collaboration with all healthcare team members while managing a dynamic and often stressful environment with professionalism and composure. You will need to work independently, exercising sound judgment in daily unit management and effectively interacting with a diverse range of patients and staff.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
You will report to the Charge Nurse and Nurse Director of the unit, supervising OB technicians and demonstrating the CARES values consistently.

Compensation:
The pay range is competitive and based on experience.
