Job Summary

This is a unique opportunity to join the Global Technology Strategy and Planning Team at McDonald's Corporation. As a Manager, Operational Excellence, you will play a critical role in ensuring the Global Tech strategy is executed effectively.

The Operations Excellence team is responsible for running Tech like a business, focusing on external brand building, operations, employee experience, and culture development. You will report to the Director, OpEx, and lead operational and communications activities for overall Global Tech and Strategy & Planning.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute comprehensive communication and stakeholder engagement strategies to enable high employee engagement across Global Technology.
  • Create effective communications that tell the Global Tech story across internal and external brand channels.
  • Bring innovative ways and tactics to Technology communications, seeking efficiencies, new insights, and effectiveness.
  • Lead execution and planning efforts of key routines and engagement events that create awareness and advocacy of the Tech story and high employee engagement.
  • Activate and grow the external Tech Blog, a key storytelling platform, which serves as a critical recruitment tool.
  • Support OpEx team on leadership communications for the Technology function.
  • Lead overall editorial calendar for the function.
  • Craft and ask for input for executive-level communications.
  • Supply prompt input to leadership scripts, narratives, talking points for key communications.
  • Support materials for leadership meetings, conversations, and events.
  • Partner with peer OpEx teams across Global Tech to ensure consistency.
  • Provide support to the Director OpEx as needed.
Qualifications
  • Experience with a variety of organizational practices, including operations management, human resources management, and leadership communications.
  • Experience in operational excellence, continuous improvement, or similar roles.
  • Knowledge and ability to discover, design, and implement best practices.
  • Able to navigate complexity, various stakeholder needs, while delivering tangible outcomes.
  • Ability to work across diverse teams to enable change and establish operational cadences.
  • Solid understanding of business practices, organizational practices, and governance processes.
  • Experience building team culture and organizational culture.
  • 5-7 years' experience working in business, technology, organizational effectiveness, organizational excellence, business process optimization, continuous improvement, or other related areas.
  • Comfortable working across local and international teams, on-site, hybrid, and virtual environments.
  • Skilled with Microsoft Office Suite (Office 365 / O365, including Teams, SharePoint, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote).
  • Able to show experience with or potential to learn Smartsheet and other digital tools.
  • Proficient in business process optimization, reviews, modeling, mapping, or process improvement.
  • Comfortable working with leadership, technology, human resource, operational, communications, and finance teams.
  • Ability to collaborate with technical team members, technical language, and offer translation towards general business or executive audiences.
  • Demonstrated combination of education and years of professional experience showing ability to work with senior leader teams, provide strategic recommendations, and implement action.
  • Capable of being structured and methodical, while also flexible and adaptable to changing organization needs, technology innovation, and organizational transformation.
