Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Global Sanctions Compliance Specialist to join our team at Gallagher - Global. As a key member of our compliance team, you will play a critical role in assisting with the operation and management of our sanctions and anti-money laundering (AML) compliance program tools and controls.

About the Role

In this role, you will be responsible for coordinating with key business and technology stakeholders to assist with global screening organization project execution, support initiatives to improve the screening program, protocols, and training, and screening automation. You will also be responsible for coordinating remediation based on, and maintenance of, sanctions screening risk assessments, as well as implementation of AML risk assessment and coordination with local compliance and operations on analysis and implementation of AML plans to mitigate the Company's risk.

You will work closely with IT and screening organization on progressing screening from the Company's source systems, conduct regular period reconciliations of the Company's application inventory to help assure all systems have been considered for screening, and perform periodic monitoring reviews of screening tools. Additionally, you will design and implementation of periodic test plan with screening vendor and internal technology team to measure the effectiveness of the Company's screening programs.

You will also provide input into the tuning methodology and implementation for the Company's AML and sanctions screening systems, take the leading role in understanding the functionality of the Company's screening systems, and work with vendors and internal screening and sanctions team to identify and assist with internal project management for implementation of enhancements.

Responsibilities will also include designing/setting configuration of screening fuzzy logic, providing project management for global sanctions projects, including enhancements to systems, processes, and procedures, and assisting with the development of new and innovative techniques which will provide greater certainty in the Sanctions/Fin. Crime screening ability to detect and report any potential sanctions/ Fin. Crime touch point.

You will work with Information Technology and business functions to implement and enhance screening feeds, including providing testing scripts, identify any failings in the screening feeds, and work with Information Technology and business colleagues to remediate and rectify the failings. Maintenance of internal screening watch lists, and review of government watch list configurations in screening tools will also be a key responsibility.

About You

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced professional with a strong background in sanctions compliance and AML. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree and 7 years of related compliance experience, with previous sanctions compliance experience in the financial services sector, and AML experience preferred. ACAMS or ACSS certification is also highly preferred.

The successful candidate will have a fundamental understanding of US sanctions laws, with understanding of UK and EU sanctions laws preferred. They will also have a collaborative mindset, with the ability to organize and prioritize work, including multiple assignments with competing deadlines, structure and execute to project plans.
