Job Overview:
The Commonwealth of Virginia is dedicated to providing quality educational services to its residents. As part of this commitment, we are seeking a Tutor to deliver exceptional tutoring services to students.

In this role, you will offer individualized, small group, and classroom tutoring sessions, either on a walk-in basis or by appointment.

You will be responsible for integrating effective study techniques and learning strategies into subject-specific instruction to enhance student achievement.

It is essential to maintain a positive demeanor towards student efforts and provide regular, constructive feedback regarding their progress. Additionally, you will keep accurate records of all tutoring sessions, both individual and group.

Professionalism is paramount; you must ensure student confidentiality is upheld at all times.

Subjects Available for Tutoring:
Candidates should be proficient in at least two subjects offered by the tutoring program, which may include:
- Mathematics (Developmental and above)
- English (Developmental and above)
- Biology
- Chemistry
- Computer Networking and Software
- Criminal Justice
- Accounting
- Spanish
- Nursing

Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify for the Tutor position, candidates must meet the following criteria:
1. A cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher in all college-level coursework.
2. A grade of B or better in the subject to be tutored or relevant experience.
3. Availability of 10 or more hours per week for tutoring.
4. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Google Suite.
5. Experience with the Canvas learning management system is required.
6. Familiarity with Zoom for remote tutoring sessions.
7. Strong communication and organizational skills, along with the ability to demonstrate effective study habits.

Preferred Qualifications:
Candidates who have completed the courses they wish to tutor in and have a recommendation from the relevant instructor will be given preference.
