The Red Cross supports various cultural and community resource groups for employees and volunteers, including the Ability Network, Asian American & Pacific Islander Resource Group, Latino Resource Group, Red Cross PRIDE, Umoja African American Resource Group, Veterans+ Resource Group, and Women's Resource Group. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage the receipt, processing, packaging, and shipping of blood products and samples for hospital orders.
  • Prioritize orders based on urgency and ensure the safe transport of life-saving blood products using appropriate temperature control methods.
  • Maintain communication with hospital clients, volunteers, and vendors while ensuring accurate product records for traceability.
  • Uphold a positive, proactive, and customer-oriented approach in all interactions, demonstrating care and compassion.
  • Ensure products and samples meet quality standards for distribution while achieving production goals.
  • Implement effective inventory management practices throughout the manufacturing and shipping processes.
  • Perform data entry related to manufacturing, labeling, storage, ordering, and shipping, maintaining accurate physical and electronic records.
  • Identify and quarantine non-compliant products and manage their disposition.
  • May be required to make deliveries to hospitals as assigned.

Work Schedule: Variable schedule, primarily during the third shift, with occasional second shift on weekends and every third week.

Compensation: $20.60 per hour, with potential shift differentials for late-night, overnight, and weekend work.

Note that salaries at the American Red Cross are aligned with the geographic location of the work performed, and other factors such as skills and experience may influence actual salary.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Two years of experience in a regulatory, distribution, or manufacturing environment is preferred; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong computer skills, attention to detail, accurate documentation, and effective decision-making abilities.
  • A valid driver's license may be required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • An Associate's degree in a science-related field is advantageous.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Position requires standing, stretching, stooping, and bending for extended periods. Ability to lift, pull, push, and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds. May involve working in walk-in refrigerator/freezers and wearing protective clothing such as lab coats, gloves, and face shields.
