Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Public Health Nurse to join our team in providing professional public health nursing services to the residents of Cobb and Douglas Counties. The successful candidate will work under general supervision to provide a wide range of public health nursing services, including family planning, sexually transmitted infection testing and treatment, immunizations, well women, child health, and breast exams, using Georgia Department of Public Health Nurse Protocols for Registered Professional Nurses.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide public health nursing services to high-risk populations, including family planning, sexually transmitted infection testing and treatment, immunizations, well women, child health, and breast exams.
  • Focus on the prevention of illness, injury, or disability, and the promotion of health and maintenance of populations.
  • Identify high-risk populations and tailor interventions based on the needs of the population and the resources available.
  • Provide treatments, administer medications/vaccines, and provide preventive and maintenance care to patients/families consistent with nurse protocols.
  • Screen and refer clients to other community service providers.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing from an accredited college or university.
  • Current Georgia license to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse.
  • CPR certification.
  • One year of professional nursing experience preferred.
