Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Public Health Nurse to join our team at Cobb and Douglas Public Health. As a Public Health Nurse, you will play a critical role in promoting and protecting the health and safety of the residents of Cobb and Douglas counties.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide professional nursing care in accordance with nurse protocols and/or procedures.
  • Focus on the prevention of illness, injury or disability, the promotion of health and maintenance of the health of populations.
  • Care for populations with special needs during disasters/emergencies and biological and chemical protocols.
  • Provide case management and follow-up of all known TB clients to ensure timely and appropriate treatment.
  • Collaborate with local physicians, hospitals, substance abuse centers, correctional facilities and community organizations to promote TB education and insure continuity of care.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing from an accredited college or university.
  • Current Georgia license to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse.
  • CPR certification.
  • One year of PHN experience (for RN 2) or two years of nursing experience (for RN 3).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Professional experience in public health nursing.
  • Experience in the specialized area of assignment.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to translate English to Spanish and Spanish to English orally and written.
Work Conditions & Physical Demands

This position does not require a lot of physical exertion. May require some lifting, but no more than 50 lbs. Not always a sedentary position; will require some walking to/from and in/out of chair. It does require the flexibility of working in various areas of the clinic when necessary and some outreach.
