Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Public Health Nurse to join our team at the Georgia Department of Public Health. As a Public Health Nurse, you will play a critical role in promoting and protecting the health and safety of the residents of Cobb and Douglas counties.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide professional nursing care to patients in accordance with established protocols and procedures.
  • Identify high-risk populations and develop interventions to address their needs.
  • Collaborate with local physicians, hospitals, and community organizations to promote health education and ensure continuity of care.
  • Adhere to HIPAA regulations and maintain confidentiality of patient information.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing from an accredited college or university.
  • Current Georgia license to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse.
  • CPR certification.
  • One year of public health nursing experience preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Professional experience in public health nursing.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to translate English to Spanish and Spanish to English orally and written.
Work Conditions and Physical Demands

This position requires minimal physical exertion and may involve some lifting, but no more than 50 pounds. The ability to work in various areas of the clinic and some outreach is required.
