Overview

The Courtroom Administrative Specialist serves as the primary point of contact for the court, fostering positive interactions with the public and legal professionals. This role is essential in promoting a favorable perception of the Judiciary.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the judge's caseload, including scheduling, tracking deadlines, and ensuring timely responses to judicial orders.
  • Keep the judge and team updated on case developments.
  • Organize court sessions, including the arrangement of court reporters and interpreters.
  • Collaborate with jury administration for upcoming trials and juror requirements.
  • Assist in the jury selection process and maintain accurate records of jury attendance.
  • Handle case management tasks, including docketing and reviewing electronic filings for quality assurance.
  • Draft legal documents and manage their processing.
  • Review cases and reports to determine necessary actions.
  • Document court proceedings and prepare official minutes.
  • Record court sessions as required.
  • Act as a liaison among the Clerk's office, legal professionals, the public, and the Court.
  • Support naturalization ceremonies and perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Relevant experience in clerical or administrative roles that involve the application of rules, regulations, and legal terminology. This experience is typically found in law firms, legal departments, financial institutions, educational organizations, and corporate settings. A minimum of two years of specialized experience equivalent to CL26 is required for CL27 eligibility.
