Music Instruction Specialist

The Diocese of Austin Catholic Schools is seeking a dedicated Part-Time Music Educator to join our team.

Position Summary
The Music Educator will be responsible for planning, guiding, and assessing the musical development of students. This role involves collaboration with school leadership and adherence to established educational policies and practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Promote and uphold the principles of Catholic education and the mission of the institution.
- Serve as a role model by embodying the values of the Catholic faith.
- Comply with the Standards of Conduct and policies of the school.
- Design instructional plans with clear objectives aligned with the curriculum.
- Provide resources and materials that facilitate student engagement in music education.
- Utilize effective teaching methodologies and assessment practices.
- Conduct both formative and summative assessments to evaluate student progress.
- Maintain accurate records in accordance with school guidelines.
- Implement positive classroom management strategies.
- Engage with parents regarding student performance and behavior.
- Maintain a schedule that maximizes accessibility for students and families.
Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in music education or a related field from an accredited institution.
Experience:
- Previous teaching experience is not required.
Certifications:
- Must meet the certification requirements as established by the Diocese.
- Completion of Ethics and Integrity in Ministry (EIM) Application for Ministry is required.
- Participation in EIM Basic abuse prevention training is mandatory.
- Ongoing professional development as per Diocese and school guidelines is expected.
- Completion of Religion Certification Part 1 within two years of hire is required.
Work Environment
- All staff members are integral to the ministry of the school and collaborate closely with school leadership.
- Flexibility in working hours, including evenings and weekends, may be necessary.
- Participation in religious ceremonies and adherence to the school's code of conduct is expected.
- Compliance with established dress codes and conduct standards is mandatory.
- Travel for meetings and events may be required.
