Primary Function:

Under the direct oversight of the Director of Curriculum and Instruction, this role provides comprehensive professional development support to educators, campus, and district personnel in the effective design and implementation of curriculum that fosters high levels of student engagement through challenging, authentic, and meaningful learning experiences. This position also focuses on effective assessment practices and encourages positive transformation and commitment to 21st-century learning, ultimately enhancing the performance of all students.

Responsibilities/Duties:

Program Implementation

  • Philosophy Support: Advocate for and uphold the educational philosophy and vision of Lake Travis ISD.
  • Professional Learning: Facilitate ongoing intellectual and professional development for educators, driving positive changes in instructional methodologies and student outcomes.
  • Instructional Practices: Demonstrate and communicate evidence-based instructional strategies to improve student performance.
  • Adaptability: Effectively respond to changes and manage additional responsibilities as required.
  • Co-Teaching: Model and co-deliver instructional strategies that ensure rigorous core instruction for all students.
  • Standards Assistance: Support educators in comprehending state standards across various grade levels and subject areas.
  • Data Analysis: Assist individuals and teams of educators in analyzing diverse data sources, including student work, to reflect on student progress and refine instructional practices.
  • Effective Practices: Help educators implement proven instructional strategies.
  • Observation & Feedback: Observe classroom instruction and provide timely, specific feedback focused on student learning behaviors.
  • Coaching Conversations: Conduct coaching sessions with educators to promote reflection and instructional enhancement.
  • Collaboration: Effectively communicate and collaborate with district and campus leadership, educators, students, paraprofessionals, parents, and the community.
  • Improvement Plans: Engage in district and campus improvement initiatives and participate in required meetings.

Program Management

  • Program Oversight: Support the implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of assigned programs for elementary and secondary education, ensuring effective administration.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records and reports as mandated by the district.
  • Alignment: Ensure alignment of work with district initiatives in the designated area.
  • Professional Learning: Attend professional development sessions and collaborate with fellow district instructional coaches to enhance skills and knowledge.

Professional Development

  • Training Delivery: Plan and deliver high-quality professional learning and support to educators on curriculum design, instructional strategies, and assessment practices.
  • Diverse Learners: Address the needs of all students, including special populations such as ELL and GT, by integrating effective strategies into daily teaching and learning.

Communication

  • Teacher Meetings: Organize and conduct meetings with educators.
  • Consultation: Collaborate with administrators, counselors, and educators regarding students who may be struggling.
  • Professional Relationships: Maintain professional relationships with colleagues, students, parents, and community members.
  • Information Presentation: Utilize effective communication skills to present information clearly and accurately.
  • Support Requests: Respond promptly and positively to support requests from campus and district administrators.
  • Department Coordination: Coordinate departmental activities with other district offices and provide assistance as needed.

Policy Implementation

  • Compliance: Adhere to district and department policies and procedures, as well as federal and state regulations, including State Board of Education and local Board policies.
  • Documentation: Compile, maintain, and file all required reports, records, and documents.

Education/Licenses/Experience

  • Certification: Valid Texas Teaching Certificate.
  • Advanced Degree: Master's degree from an accredited college/university preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of three years of successful teaching experience. Evidence of leadership roles and experience as an instructional coach preferred.

Working Conditions

  • Mental Demands: Self-motivated, capable of performing tasks with minimal supervision, managing multiple complex projects, maintaining emotional control under stress, and communicating effectively.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to lift/carry 15-44 pounds, frequent sitting, standing, walking, climbing, and other physical activities. Prolonged use of a computer and occasional travel may be required.
