Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Instructional Designer to join our team at the University of Texas at Austin. As an Instructional Designer, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality learning solutions that advance the mission of the Medical Education Department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop instructional materials and courses for faculty and staff
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to create engaging and effective learning experiences
  • Develop and maintain the Canvas learning management system and its courses
  • Conduct workshops and training sessions on instructional technology and pedagogy
  • Provide technical support and guidance to faculty and staff on instructional technology
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging trends and best practices in instructional design and technology
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Instructional Technology or related field
  • 2 years of experience designing and supporting education applications in a higher education setting
  • Proficient in Canvas Learning Management System (LMS) or another LMS
  • Aptitude for instructional or technical problem-solving in a complex environment
  • Exceptional customer service skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree or graduate coursework in a relevant discipline
  • Demonstrated experience working with graduate medical education faculty
  • Proven skill in developing, designing, or implementing immersive solutions utilizing VR and AR technologies
Working Conditions
  • Repetitive use of a keyboard at a workstation
