Position Overview:

As a Senior Software Engineer, you understand that an effective application or system requires a well-balanced mix of clean coding practices, robust APIs, insightful analytics, and solid infrastructure to deliver a user-centric solution. We are seeking a skilled software engineer who possesses the technical expertise necessary to identify potential challenges, contribute to innovative solution design, and develop efficient systems tailored to our clients' needs.

In your role at Booz Allen Hamilton, you will leverage cutting-edge architectural methodologies and open-source tools to implement solutions. Utilizing your software engineering acumen, you will collaborate with and gain insights from the development team to craft bespoke tools, systems, and applications that ensure consistent performance and scalability.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience with programming languages such as JavaScript, Python, C#, or Java.
  • At least 2 years of experience specifically with JavaScript, covering both front-end and back-end development.
  • Proven experience in developing APIs at scale.
  • Familiarity with database architecture, including SQL or NoSQL technologies.
  • Proficient in Linux operating systems.
  • Experience with containerization technologies like Docker, Kubernetes, or Helm.
  • Background in Agile software development methodologies.
  • Proficient in Git and version control practices.
  • Possession of TS/SCI clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree along with 5+ years of software development experience, or 7+ years of experience in lieu of a degree.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with Node.js and Express, or Koa frameworks.
  • Familiarity with ElasticSearch or Neo4j databases.
  • Experience in building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
  • Certification as a Scrum Master (PSM, CSM, or SSM).

Security Clearance:

Selected candidates will undergo a security investigation and may need to fulfill eligibility criteria for access to classified information; TS/SCI clearance is mandatory.

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including location, education, knowledge, skills, competencies, experience, and specific contract requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $84,600.00 to $193,000.00 annually. This range represents the typical salary for this role and is part of Booz Allen's total compensation package.

Work Environment:

Our people-first culture emphasizes flexibility and collaboration, whether in-person or remote. If this position is designated as remote or hybrid, you will occasionally work from a Booz Allen or client site. If it is listed as onsite, you will collaborate with colleagues and clients in person as required by the role.
