Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Principal Low Observable Materials Engineer to join our team at Raytheon. As a key member of our mechanical design team, you will be responsible for developing and integrating advanced materials and technologies to support our customers' needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and characterize advanced materials and coatings for low observable applications
  • Integrate materials and technologies into air vehicle systems to minimize radar cross-section
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement signature management strategies
  • Conduct material measurements and performance predictions using computational electromagnetic codes
  • Develop and maintain engineering documentation and technical reports
  • Lead and mentor early career engineers and provide technical guidance and support
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM)
  • 10 years of experience in low observables or radar materials engineering, or 7 years with a related degree and experience
  • Material characterization, performance testing, and/or design experience
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a US government-issued security clearance
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM)
  • Experience with high-temperature LO materials characterization, testing, and integration
  • Competence in utilizing thermal analysis techniques and intrinsic property analytical techniques
  • Agile communication and project management skills
  • Proficiency in CAD software and technical programming languages
