We are seeking a skilled Concrete Finishing Assistant to join our team at Kiewit Corporation. As a Concrete Finishing Assistant, you will assist skilled craftspersons in performing supportive duties, working under immediate supervision.
Key Responsibilities- Assist concrete and other onsite crews as needed, ensuring efficient workflow and productivity.
- Operate discharge chutes, spread, level, and smooth concrete, and rough surface with a broom as required.
- Inspect forms to ensure they are properly constructed, maintaining high-quality standards.
- Chip, scrape, and grind high spots, ridges, and rough projections to finish concrete, utilizing pneumatic chisels, power grinders, and/or hand tools.
- Mold expansion joints and edges, using edging tools, jointers, and straightedge, ensuring precise results.
- Monitor environmental factors affecting concrete curing, taking necessary actions to maintain optimal conditions.
- Operate concrete vibrators to consolidate concrete, ensuring uniform density.
- Verify equipment and materials are used properly, reporting any unsafe conditions to management.
- High school diploma or equivalent, with previous experience in the field or a related area.
- Knowledge, skills, and abilities for the position, including effective communication and teamwork.
- Field experience in chosen craft discipline, with knowledge of safe and efficient tool usage.
- Able to meet all physical requirements, including climbing and working at heights and in confined spaces.
- Must have all required tools and equipment.
- Expected to work outdoors in all weather conditions, including extreme temperatures.
- Able to work overtime, nights, and weekends as required by the workload.
- Observe and comply with all safety and project rules, performing other duties as required.
