Job Summary:
The Air and Ocean Operations Agent plays a crucial role in the day-to-day operational function of the air and ocean department, assisting with all aspects of shipment processing, quoting, and accounting.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Shipment Processing:
    • Manage air and ocean import arrivals, Customs clearances, and trucking dispatch
    • Communicate with clients to arrange shipment pickups or deliveries
    • Prepare airline, ocean carrier, and trucking documentation
    • Choose the best airline, ocean carrier, and trucking vendors
    • Communicate with overseas partners to develop business and coordinate shipments
    • Assist in developing and streamlining internal procedures
  • Quotes:
    • Quote directly to clients and overseas agent partners as necessary
    • Assist sales in costing and quoting functions for business development
  • Accounting:
    • Improve costing from airlines, ocean carriers, and vendors
    • Invoice shipments to clients and agents, ensuring profitability
Requirements and Qualifications:
  • Minimum 1 year Air and Ocean Export experience preferred but not required
  • Strong verbal and written skills
  • Ability to multitask consistently
  • Proficiency in MS Outlook, Excel, Word
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work well in a flexible, changing industry environment
  • Requires mathematical and analytical skills in developing and interpreting financial/data records
  • Is proactive and self-starting team player
  • Ability to effectively communicate ideas
