Position Overview:

Title: Mid Cloud Security Engineer

Location: Remote opportunities are not available for this role.

Clearance Requirement: DoD Secret Clearance is mandatory.

Work Schedule: Day shift (Monday to Friday)

Travel Expectations: Up to 10% travel may be required.

Role Responsibilities:

The Mid Cloud Security Engineer plays a pivotal role in supporting the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) under the Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions (IRES) contract. Key responsibilities include:


• Designing, implementing, and overseeing cloud security frameworks and technologies.


• Possessing comprehensive knowledge of cloud services such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.


• Formulating and enforcing cloud security policies, standards, and protocols.


• Monitoring security incidents and conducting forensic investigations as necessary.


• Performing regular security evaluations and vulnerability assessments on software using SAST and DAST methodologies.


• Collaborating with development and operations teams to embed security best practices within DevSecOps workflows.


• Keeping abreast of emerging security threats, vulnerabilities, and technological advancements.


• Ensuring adherence to applicable regulations and standards (e.g., GDPR, NIST Framework, ISO).


• Implementing and managing encryption, identity and access management (IAM), and other security measures.


• Providing training and guidance to other teams on cloud security best practices.


• Participating in security audits and risk evaluations.


• Developing and maintaining documentation related to cloud security configurations, procedures, and policies.


• Engaging in engineering and architecture discussions, serving as a technical authority across various IT domains related to Cloud and DevSecOps initiatives.


• Executing modifications and upgrades as required.


• Coordinating with other departments to resolve incidents related to systems and supporting infrastructure.

Application Requirements:

Candidates must meet one of the following educational and experience combinations: High School Diploma (or GED) with 12 years of general experience; Associate's degree with 10 years of general experience; Bachelor's degree with 8 years of general experience; or Master's degree with 6 years of general experience.


• A minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in roles such as software developer, application integration specialist, or related fields.


• At least 1 year of experience in management or leadership positions.


• A current DoD IAT Level II Certification (e.g., CompTIA Security+ CE Certification) is required.


• At least one commercially recognized Cloud certification is necessary.


• An active DoD Secret Security Clearance is required.

Preferred Qualifications:


• Experience in systems administration/engineering for Azure and AWS platforms.


• Familiarity with GitLab.


• Proficiency with developer and coding tools.


• Experience with Remedy Incident and Change Management.


• Knowledge in networking, cybersecurity, and automation.


• Experience with DevSecOps methodologies.


• Proficiency in scripting and automation languages (e.g., Python, Bash, PowerShell).


• Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).


• Understanding of DevSecOps practices and tools.


• Familiarity with Zero Trust architecture principles.


• Knowledge of data protection and privacy regulations.

This position offers a competitive salary range of $104,000 - $128,000 annually, commensurate with experience, education, and relevant certifications.
