Role Responsibilities:

The Mid Cloud Security Engineer plays a crucial role in supporting the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) under the Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions (IRES) contract.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, implement, and oversee cloud security frameworks and technologies.
  • Possess extensive knowledge of cloud service providers such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Formulate and enforce cloud security policies, standards, and procedures.
  • Monitor security incidents and conduct forensic analysis as necessary.
  • Perform regular security evaluations and vulnerability assessments using SAST and DAST tools.
  • Collaborate with development and operations teams to integrate security best practices into DevSecOps methodologies.
  • Stay informed about the latest security threats, vulnerabilities, and technological advancements.
  • Ensure adherence to relevant regulations and standards (e.g., GDPR, NIST Framework, ISO).
  • Implement and enforce encryption, identity and access management (IAM), and other security measures.
  • Provide guidance and training to teams on cloud security best practices.
  • Participate in security audits and risk assessments.
  • Develop and maintain documentation related to cloud security configurations, procedures, and policies.
  • Engage in engineering and architecture meetings, serving as a technical expert across multiple IT domains related to Cloud and DevSecOps projects.
  • Execute modifications and upgrades as required.
  • Coordinate with other departments to resolve incidents related to systems and supporting infrastructure.
Application Requirements:
Candidates must possess one of the following combinations of education and experience: High School Diploma (or GED) with 12 years of general experience; Associate's degree with 10 years of general experience; Bachelor's degree with 8 years of general experience; or Master's degree with 6 years of general experience.

  • 7 years of relevant experience in software development, application integration, or related fields.
  • At least 1 year of experience in management or leadership roles.
  • Current DoD IAT Level II Certification (e.g., CompTIA Security+ CE Certification).
  • At least 1 commercially recognized Cloud certification.
  • Active DoD Secret Security Clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in systems administration/engineering with Azure and AWS platforms.
  • Familiarity with GitLab.
  • Experience with development and coding tools.
  • Knowledge of Remedy Incident and Change Management.
  • Background in networking, cybersecurity, and automation.
  • Experience with DevSecOps processes.
  • Proficiency in scripting and automation (e.g., Python, Bash, PowerShell).
  • Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Understanding of DevSecOps practices and tools.
  • Familiarity with Zero Trust architecture principles.
  • Knowledge of data protection and privacy laws.
