Role Responsibilities:

The Mid Cloud Security Engineer plays a crucial role in supporting the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) under the Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions (IRES) contract.

Key Responsibilities Include:
  • Designing, implementing, and managing security architectures and technologies for cloud environments.
  • Possessing extensive knowledge of cloud platforms including AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Developing and enforcing security policies, standards, and procedures for cloud operations.
  • Monitoring and responding to security incidents, conducting forensic analysis as necessary.
  • Performing regular security assessments and vulnerability scans on code utilizing SAST and DAST tools.
  • Collaborating with development and operations teams to integrate security best practices into DevSecOps methodologies.
  • Staying informed about the latest security threats, vulnerabilities, and technology advancements.
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards (e.g., GDPR, NIST Framework, ISO).
  • Implementing and enforcing encryption, identity and access management (IAM), and other security controls.
  • Providing guidance and training to other teams on cloud security best practices.
  • Participating in security audits and risk assessments.
  • Creating and maintaining documentation related to cloud security configurations, procedures, and policies.
  • Attending engineering and architecture meetings, serving as a technical expert across multiple IT domains related to Cloud and DevSecOps projects.
  • Making modifications and upgrades as required.
  • Coordinating with other work centers and personnel to resolve incidents related to systems and supporting infrastructure.
Application Requirements: Candidates must possess one of the following combinations of education and experience: High School Diploma (or GED) with 12 years of general experience; Associate's degree with 10 years of general experience; Bachelor's degree with 8 years of general experience; Master's degree with 6 years of general experience.

  • Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in roles such as software developer, application integration specialist, or related fields.
  • At least 1 year of experience in management or leadership positions.
  • Current DoD IAT Level II Certification (e.g., CompTIA Security+ CE Certification) is required.
  • At least 1 commercially recognized Cloud certification is necessary.
  • An active DoD Secret Security Clearance is mandatory.
Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in systems administration/engineering managing Azure and AWS platforms.
  • Familiarity with GitLab.
  • Experience with developer and coding tools.
  • Knowledge of Remedy Incident and Change Management.
  • Background in networking, cybersecurity, and automation.
  • Experience with DevSecOps processes.
  • Proficiency in scripting and automation (e.g., Python, Bash, PowerShell).
  • Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Understanding of DevSecOps practices and tools.
  • Familiarity with Zero Trust architecture principles.
  • Knowledge of data protection and privacy laws.

This position offers a competitive salary range of $104,000 - $128,000 annually, based on experience, education, and relevant certifications.
