Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Senior Admitting Worker to join our Rehab Services team at the University of California, Irvine. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and administrative support in our ambulatory clinics.

Responsibilities
  • Serve as the first point of contact for patients, providing a warm and welcoming experience
  • Perform general clerical and reception duties, including data entry and verification of insurance and/or third-party coverage
  • Schedule, confirm, and cancel patient appointments with accuracy and efficiency
  • Act as a preceptor and lead for other Admit Workers in the clinic, providing guidance and support as needed
Requirements
  • Demonstrated experience using office equipment, such as printers, copiers, and scanners
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work with diverse populations
  • Ability to work variable shifts, including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Basic math skills and ability to perform simple calculations
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently
Preferred Qualifications
  • Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology and insurance programs
  • Experience working with electronic health records and registration systems
  • Bilingual skills in English/Spanish or English/Vietnamese (dependent on clinic requirements)
