Position Overview

LendingOne is a prominent direct private lender catering to Real Estate professionals. About the Role:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and technology-savvy professional to join our Operations team. This role will report to the Underwriting Team Manager and will primarily focus on the underwriting of investment properties. The Credit Analyst/Underwriter will be responsible for evaluating complex commercial real estate loans with minimal supervision. Key responsibilities include analyzing acquisition costs, potential renovations, property cash flows, rent rolls, market conditions, and corresponding loan terms.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive underwriting on all commercial loans, including assessments of both the borrower and the property.
  • Perform credit analysis by reviewing financial documents to evaluate creditworthiness and determine eligibility for financing.
  • Assess various properties owned by investors, considering their experience and performance in other investments.
  • Identify potential risks associated with borrowers or properties, determining if risks are acceptable or if alternative financing options are necessary.
  • Evaluate property underwriting aspects, including acquisition costs, renovation plans, current rents, and anticipated rent increases.
  • Prepare summary reports that encapsulate loan applications and credit analyses, including both quantitative and qualitative evaluations.
  • Investigate discrepancies in applicants' financial statements as needed.
  • Verify market comparables for rental and property sale values.
  • Review appraisal analyses to ensure compliance with acceptable standards.
  • Issue final underwriting approvals with terms once loans are approved, ensuring effective internal communication.
  • Maintain productivity levels and turnaround times as established by management, prioritizing the underwriting caseload to meet deadlines.
  • Exhibit strong business relationship management skills, anticipating the needs of various business stakeholders.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 2-3 years of successful operational experience as an underwriter, particularly in real estate investment properties.
  • A Bachelor's degree is required, preferably in finance, business, or economics.
  • Possess a positive attitude, exceptional organizational skills, and strong communication abilities.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Word and Excel.
  • Exhibit attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Display natural skepticism and curiosity to challenge the status quo and identify issues.
