Accounting Manager Job Description

Marymount Manhattan College invites applications for an Accounting Manager position. This role requires a detail-oriented individual with expertise in accounting, finance, and financial analysis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Controller and Assistant Controller in managing financial operations, including general accounting, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and payroll.
  • Conduct daily reviews of cash receipts, payroll, and accounts payable, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Supervise the preparation of financial statements, including quarterly and annual reports.
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with Academic Affairs grants accounting, providing regular reports on restricted accounts.
  • Process daily Institutional Advancement contributions and reconcile them regularly.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business-related field; Master's degree or CPA preferred.
  • 2-4 years of experience in accounting and finance, preferably in a not-for-profit organization.
  • Strong analytical skills, ability to interpret numbers, and knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control procedures.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Access; experience with ADP, Datatel Colleague, and Cash Management Systems a plus.

The estimated salary for this position is $75,000 - $85,000 per year, based on market rates and industry standards.
