Surgical Technologist - KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • The Surgical Technologist plays a vital role in managing surgical procedures, which can range from routine operations to complex trauma cases. Proficiency in circulating a diverse array of surgical procedures in the operating room is essential.
  • Responsible for fulfilling all fundamental duties expected of a Surgical/OR Technologist, including patient pre-operative and post-operative care, as well as maintaining cleanliness and inventory of sterile supplies and instruments in the operating room.
  • Ensure safe patient transport from hospital units to the operating room, verifying that preoperative medications have been administered and that all personal items such as jewelry and dentures have been removed.
  • Document all aspects of patient care and monitor the progress of patients throughout their surgical experience.
  • Assist Surgeons, Anesthesiologists, and Anesthetists during the induction phase and throughout the surgical procedure.
  • Provide emotional support to patients who may be anxious about surgery, while also communicating with family members to offer information and alleviate concerns regarding the patient's condition and prognosis.
Surgical Technologist - QUALIFICATIONS
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience as a certified Surgical Technologist/OR Technologist within the last three years is required.
  • Certification from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) as a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) must be obtained and maintained.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association or equivalent standards is mandatory.
