Job Title: Operating Room Nurse - Fertility Specialist
Reports to: Nurse Manager
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Summary: This role involves executing patient-specific responsibilities within the fertility sector, encompassing patient care, education, triage, and procedural assistance in an operating room environment under physician supervision.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administers prescribed medications and adheres to established medication protocols.
- Initiates, maintains, and terminates intravenous (IV) lines.
- Assesses patient inquiries, issues, and concerns, directing them to the appropriate department.
- Communicates and documents all laboratory findings comprehensively.
- Maintains accurate and detailed healthcare records.
- Prepares patients for the outlined procedures.
- Assists in various patient procedures, including oocyte retrievals, cyst aspirations, dilatation and curettage, laparoscopic and hysteroscopy surgeries, epididymal aspirations, HSG, and selective catheterization.
- Monitors recovery processes for post-operative patients.
- Engages in professional development, nursing conferences, infectious disease training, and ongoing education relevant to the specialty.

Education/Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent (GED) along with one year of technical training. Graduation from an accredited registered nursing program is mandatory.
Language Skills:
Ability to comprehend and interpret documents such as safety regulations, operational instructions, and procedural manuals. Capable of writing routine reports and correspondence. Proficient in delivering presentations to groups of clients or organizational staff.
Mathematical Skills:
Ability to perform basic arithmetic operations and interpret data, including rates, ratios, and percentages.
Reasoning Skills:
Ability to address practical problems and manage a variety of concrete variables in situations with limited standardization. Capable of interpreting diverse instructions provided in written, oral, diagrammatic, or scheduled formats.
Knowledge, Skills, and Other Abilities:
- Familiarity with Medical Terminology
- Proficient in administering injections
- Skilled in venipuncture techniques
- Experienced in oral medication administration
- Effective time management abilities
Valid Colorado State Registered Nurse License
