GENERAL SUMMARY:

The Senior Practice Coordinator for Check-In/Check-Out plays a vital role within the healthcare team, ensuring outstanding customer service is delivered in the most efficient and safe manner.
By fostering relationships with patients, families, clinicians, and staff, the Senior Practice Coordinator acts as a crucial team member who provides quality service and supports the achievement of significant goals for a positive patient experience, the practice, and the organization.
This role also includes mentoring and serving as a resource for other Check-In/Check-Out personnel.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Collaborate with the Practice Manager to oversee daily operations of Check-In/Check-Out.
- Perform administrative tasks with minimal supervision at a high proficiency level.
- Assist patients by following established protocols and utilizing excellent customer service skills.
- Lead the team by assigning and prioritizing tasks, troubleshooting issues, and providing training and support.
- Monitor staff assignments and manage vacation and sick leave coverage.
- Work closely with the Practice Manager to track work queues and performance metrics.
- Identify training needs and provide exemplary customer service, serving as a role model for compliance with departmental standards.
- Guide staff in resolving complex issues and provide feedback for performance evaluations.
- Assist in the recruitment and training of new staff members.
- Act as a super user for scheduling and clinical protocols, providing training and assistance as needed.
- Handle confidential information with discretion and follow HIPAA guidelines.
- Engage in special projects as directed.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of an Associate's Degree; Bachelor's Degree preferred.
- At least three years of experience in a medical office or administrative support role.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Proficient in practice operations and standards.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to manage sensitive situations professionally.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Advanced computer skills and familiarity with relevant applications.
- Ability to analyze situations and determine appropriate actions within established guidelines.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and understanding of insurance processes.
