Job Summary

The Restaurant Systems Manager is a critical role within the Flynn Applebee's organization, responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our restaurant systems. This includes providing first-level hardware and software support for our units, as well as remote users, and maintaining detailed knowledge of Microsoft Windows Operating Systems and Office.

Key Responsibilities
  • Remote User Support: Provide first-line support for Applebee's Help Desk, handling hardware and operating system issues, and configuring devices for network connectivity.
  • Hardware Installation and Repair: Install PC's, laptops, printers, and related hardware, investigate hardware problems, and perform minor system hardware repairs.
  • POS Hardware Knowledge: Maintain entry-level hardware knowledge, including understanding of POS hardware, BOH server hardware, and internet connectivity hardware.
  • AAG Related Software Support: Provide support on all Flynn Applebee's custom applications, including 1st-level support for unit managers, maintaining knowledge of unit closing routines, and reporting database problems to developers.
  • Restaurant Openings and Remodels: Maintain restaurant openings checklist, monitor stocking levels for spare equipment and supplies, order supplies to maintain a par set, and track and monitor status of assigned tasks.
  • Help Desk Support: Take all 1st-level help desk calls from the AII Help Desk for hardware issues, distribute 2nd-level help desk calls to the appropriate personnel, and contact A.I.I. Help Desk or vendor software support help desks when units are dissatisfied with service.
Requirements
  • Strong Knowledge and Experience: Strong knowledge and experience with restaurant operations, as well as a good working knowledge of POS systems.
  • Microsoft Office Products: Must be at an intermediate user level with Microsoft Office products.
  • Communication Skills: Must be a good communicator, able to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Certifications: A+ Certification, Dell Certified Technician, Microsoft Office Specialist Certification, and Microsoft Certified Desktop Support Technicians (MCDSTs) are a plus.
